For me, every piece of equipment has to earn its spot in my pack through performance, not promises. Their booth wasn’t anything over-the-top. No celebrity endorsements, and no gimmicks designed to grab attention. Just a simple black-and-gray setup with an understated direct to consumer approach. But the optics? They stood out!

Why I Use TRACT

Even in the dim lighting of the convention hall, before the main lights were switched on, I picked up their 15×56 binoculars. I wasn’t expecting much because, honestly, how good could they with virtually no light in the hall? But the moment I put them to my eyes, I was blown away. The clarity was unreal. Every detail popped, and the brightness was like nothing I had experienced before. Intrigued, I took them outside to see if they held up under natural light. Sure enough, the view was crystal clear, razor-sharp, and incredibly bright. I was impressed.

But there was one catch: the price. At around $1,700 CAD, I was skeptical. I thought, “There’s gotta be a trade-off somewhere. Maybe the durability will disappoint, or maybe the performance will drop off after prolonged use.” I wasn’t ready to commit just yet.

Time To Test – Why I Use TRACT

Fast forward to the next show, and as fate would have it, I ended up with a booth directly across from TRACT. Now, I’ll admit—I spent a lot of time “visiting” their booth. I had plenty of conversations with Jon, who was more than happy to answer my endless questions. After learning about their products and the company’s philosophy, I decided to start small. I picked up one of their entry-level 22 FIRE rimfire scopes to see if it lived up to all the reviews on their website.

Now, I don’t test gear the way most people do. I have to know that products I take into the field can survive the abuse of real-world hunting and outdoor adventures. So I subjected that scope to some serious punishment. First, I threw it across the yard—literally. Then I dropped it on the gravel driveway. Next, I dunked it in a five-gallon bucket of water, where it sat forgotten for weeks.

Why I Use TRACT

When I finally pulled it out, I expected it to be ruined, but to my surprise, it was still crystal clear. No fogging. No leaks. It performed perfectly. So, naturally, I took the test to the next level—I froze the scope solid in that same bucket of water. Weeks later, my wife asked why a random bucket was taking up valuable freezer space. I laughed and explained, “Oh, that’s just the scope I’m testing.”

After thawing it out, I mounted it back on my rifle. I sighted it in again, fully expecting the freezing process to have thrown off the settings. To my astonishment, it was still dead-on accurate. That scope had survived everything I threw at it, and it hadn’t missed a beat.

But I wasn’t done. I mounted the scope on my PCP .25 caliber air rifle and ran it through its paces. Over 300 rounds later—after constant recoil and vibration—it was still perfectly zeroed. I took it hunting, hauling it up and down rugged mountain terrain, where my gear often takes a beating. My pack hit rocks, my rifle got banged around, and yet that little scope never flinched.

Going All-In – Why I Use TRACT

That’s when I realized something: if TRACT’s most affordable, entry-level scope could endure that kind of abuse and still perform flawlessly, what could their top-of-the-line optics do? I decided to go all in and invest in their premium products.

I upgraded to the TORIC UHD 27-55×80 Spotting Scope

Why I Use TRACT

TORIC UHD 2.5-15×44 BDC Rifle Scope

TORIC UHD 15×56 SCHOTT HT Binoculars

“For me, every piece of equipment has to earn its spot in my pack through performance, not promises.
