People were genuinely surprised at the level of quality they were getting for the price. When you\u2019re nipping at the heels of the big European brands in terms of optical performance \u2014 but at a fraction of the cost \u2014 it forces people to rethink what they\u2019ve been told about pricing.<\/p><p><span style=\"color: #f25c10\"><strong>It opened a lot of eyes to the reality<\/strong><\/span> that high markup is a very real thing in the optics world. That\u2019s the SCHOTT HT difference.<\/p><p>We\u2019ve both taken animals in extreme low\u2011light situations \u2014 still legal shooting hours \u2014 where we literally couldn\u2019t see the animal with the naked eye. The feel of the focus knob, the smoothness of the adjustments, the consistency from one unit to the next \u2014 those things don\u2019t happen by accident.<\/p><p>At shows, we\u2019ll pick up competitors\u2019 scopes and you can feel the inconsistency from model to model. That markup is quite large in the optics world. Because we don\u2019t have to hit inflated margins, we don\u2019t have to cut corners to make the numbers work.
