Combined with a dash of work, effort, and luck to attribute to overall success, bringing home a trophy is really only one part of the prize. For us, it\u2019s the harvest that feeds our families throughout the fall, <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.tract-optics.co.za\/how-to-keep-your-feet-warm-in-winter\/\">winter<\/a>, and spring. That\u2019s why crafting delicious meals from the <a title=\"How to Transport Meat Home From Your Hunt\" href=\"https:\/\/tractoptics.com\/blog\/how-to-transport-meat-home-from-your-hunt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">meat turns your bounty into a reward that can last for much longer than the hunt<\/a> itself.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We\u2019ve asked some of our team members to share their favorite venison recipes. Here\u2019s what we\u2019ve come up with.<\/span><\/p><p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.tract-optics.co.za\/tag\/jon-lacorte\/\">Jon LaCorte<\/a> \u2013 Co-Founder<\/b><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">These are pretty simple. You might note that old school Italians don\u2019t measure ingredients. So use your best judgement.<\/span><\/p><h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Grilled_Marinated_Tenderloin\"><\/span><b>Grilled Marinated Tenderloin<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ingredients<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1 venison tenderloin<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1 bottle of your favorite teriyaki marinade<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1 tbsp minced garlic<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Slice tenderloin into \u00bd inch thick medallions. Marinate in teriyaki and garlic overnight. Grill to medium rare.<\/span><\/p><h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Italian_Tenderloin_Cutlets\"><\/span><b>Italian Tenderloin Cutlets<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ingredients<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1 venison tenderloin<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1 cup flour<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1 cup seasoned bread crumbs<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Vegetable or olive oil<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">2 eggs beaten<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Thinly slice tenderloin into cutlets or pound out thicker pieces for larger cutlets. Coat cutlets in flour, and then dredge through egg wash and lastly seasoned breadcrumbs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Heat a pan on the stove on medium-high heat until lightly smoking. Once pan is heated, fry breaded cutlets on medium-high heat until golden brown.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The cutlets can then be used in your favorite parmigiana, marsala, or francese.<\/span><\/p><h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Venison_Roast_can_also_use_any_cubed_section_of_the_animal\"><\/span><b>Venison Roast (can also use any cubed section of the animal)<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ingredients<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1 medium to large rump roast<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">4 whole potatoes\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">4 whole carrots<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">2 onions<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1 tbsp minced garlic<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1 can of beef stock<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Place roast in slow cooker. Half the potatoes, slice carrots into cubes, rough chop onions, and include all vegetables in the slow cooker with garlic. Add the beef beef stock, and cook for several hours on low until meat falls apart with a fork.<\/span><\/p><p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.tract-optics.co.za\/tag\/jon-allen\/\">Jon Allen<\/a> \u2013 Co-Founder<\/b><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In our household, everyone\u2019s favorite venison recipe is Maya\u2019s \u201cNoodles &#038; Meat.\u201d Ingredients are approximations.<\/span><\/p><h2><b>Noodles &#038; Meat Recipe<\/b><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ingredients<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1lb. ground venison<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1lb. Pasta (normally made with the wide egg noodle pasta)<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">3 fresh Garlic Cloves \u2013 peeled and chopped<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1 small Onion \u2013 peeled and chopped<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">4 tbs. Olive oil (2 for pasta \u2013 2 for stir-frying onions and garlic)<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Powdered Garlic to taste<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Salt &#038; Pepper to taste<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Fresh or Dried Oregano &#038; Basil<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1 tbs. Beef Bouillon from jar (not dried cubes)<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">About 2 tbs. Sweet Soy Sauce<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">About 3 tbs Regular Soy Sauce<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">About 3 tbs. Worcestershire Sauce<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1 Dollop of Mayonnaise and or Greek Yogurt (plain)<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00bd &#8211; \u00be cup of Heavy Cream<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1 cup Grated Fresh (Real) Parmesan Cheese<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Make Pasta (al dente is preferred) and set aside. Chop the onion and garlic and shred-grate parmesan cheese.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Stir fry onions and garlic with olive oil until glossy and tender and set aside. Stir fry venison on low to medium heat. When almost completely browned, add bouillon and mix well. Then stir in soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, powdered garlic, and 1 tsp of salt. Turn down heat to low.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Stir in a generous dollop of mayo or Greek yogurt and add heavy cream. Mix in parmesan cheese until consistency is creamy. If watery, slowly stir in flour until liquid thickens.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Turn off heat and finish meat with oregano and basil. Add pasta to the sauce (or sauce to pasta in a large bowl) and toss well. Serve with a side of desired veggies from the garden and don\u2019t forget the homemade bread. Slice vegetables with the grain.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Heat a cast iron skillet until it\u2019s smoking hot. Add olive oil and sear meat for about 40 seconds per side. Let rest. Bring the heat back down and add vegetables to pan.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Slice meat while vegetables cook, making sure they don\u2019t get soggy. Add sliced meat back to pan with the juice of one lime and half of the beer. Drink the rest.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In another skillet, heat vegetable oil. Fold corn tortilla with tongs, and fry each until forming a crispy shell. Then, fill it up! Garnish with pico de gallo and hot sauce for an added kick. Make sure there are plenty of cold beers in a cooler nearby. Place 1 cream cheese cube inside 1 jalapeno ring, lay venison cube on top of jalapeno slice. Wrap with \u00bd slice of bacon and secure with toothpick.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Bake for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and add 1 teaspoon of BBQ sauce on each cube. Return to the oven and back for additional 10 mins or until bacon is crisp.
