After our family had opened all the gifts my mom said to my dad, \u201cI think there is one more gift we did not open.\u201d My dad proceeded to pull out a long and slender box from the closet. I had been wanting a 22LR rifle in the worst way and I knew that had to be what was in that box.<\/p><p>My dad placed the rifle across my lap. I tore the wrapping paper off to see the Ruger brand symbol. It was the <a href=\"https:\/\/ruger.com\/products\/1022Sporter\/specSheets\/1102.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RUGER 10\/22<\/a> that I wanted so badly. I wish I knew how many rounds I had put through that rifle over the past 45 years. I still have that <a title=\"Rifle Marksmanship : Trigger Control Equals Success\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.tractoptics.com\/rifle-marksmanship-trigger-control-success\/\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"1428\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rifle and pull it out to shoot<\/a> it from time to time. I have seen the surge in rimfire on social media, especially long <a title=\"Long Range Shooting Etiquette\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.tractoptics.com\/long-range-shooting-etiquette\/\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"1368\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">range rimfire shooting<\/a> and always wanted a precision rimfire rifle. The 10\/22\u2019s have always been reliable and accurate, but I wanted to take it to another level. After doing a fair amount of research I settled on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bergara.online\/us\/rifles\/rimfire\/b-14r-steel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bergara B-14R<\/a> with steel barrel. It was a beautiful, chilly, sunny day but there was a decent amount of wind, so I was not sure how it would go.<\/p><h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Ammo_1\"><\/span>Ammo #1<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3><p>I started off with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cci-ammunition.com\/rimfire\/cci\/standard_velocity\/6-35.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>CCI Standard Velocity<\/strong><\/a> and was shooting 5 shot groups. I was pleasantly surprised by the accuracy of the CCI Standard ammo. The rifle functioned flawlessly throughout the day. I would estimate around 300 rounds were fired. The bolt is smooth yet tight, making working the bolt without changing your head position manageable. The factory trigger was nice, but I have been spoiled by <a href=\"https:\/\/triggertech.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trigger Tech triggers<\/a> that I use in my centerfire target and test guns.
