The following facts and numbers, acquired mostly from the National <a title=\"Shooting a 22LR Rifle in a Whole New Way\" href=\"https:\/\/tractoptics.com\/blog\/shooting-22lr-rifle-in-a-whole-new-way\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Shooting<\/a> Sports Foundation (NSSF), don\u2019t lie.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify\"><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify\"><\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"text-align: justify\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Continuing_the_Legacy_Hunting_Industry\"><\/span>Continuing the Legacy Hunting Industry<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2><p style=\"text-align: justify\"><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify\"><\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"text-align: justify\">Ever log onto social media and discover how many people you grew up with, who never hunted in their youth, that are now flooding their pages with <a title=\"Avoiding Ticks While Hunting\" href=\"https:\/\/tractoptics.com\/blog\/avoiding-ticks-while-hunting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hunting<\/a> pictures? As the sport and the idea of being a sportsmen continues its rise in popularity, so does the expenditures of hunters, which have grown 55 percent in the past decade. Think of this industry as a giant economic machine that provides thousands of jobs pertaining to the manufacturing and sale of outdoor products, of which there are aplenty &#8211; shotguns, rifles, optics, ammunition, bows and <a title=\"accessories\" href=\"https:\/\/tractoptics.com\/blog\/category\/rifle-scope\/accessories\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">accessories<\/a>, arrows, broadheads, ATVs, clothing, the list goes on. The outdoor industry supports nearly 700,000 jobs, even when unemployment is still fairly high.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify\"><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify\"><\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-image\" style=\"text-align: justify\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-256\" src=\"https:\/\/tma65.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/inner48.png\" alt=\"\" title=\"\"><\/figure><p style=\"text-align: justify\"><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify\"><\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"text-align: justify\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"An_Incomparable_Industry\"><\/span>An Incomparable Industry<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3><p style=\"text-align: justify\"><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify\"><\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"text-align: justify\">According to the 2011 (yes, the is the most recent report) U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service\u2019s National Survey of Fishing, Hunting and Wildlife-Associated Recreation reports, 13.7 million people aged 16 or older (about six percent of our country\u2019s population) <a title=\"hunting\" href=\"https:\/\/tractoptics.com\/blog\/category\/hunting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hunted<\/a> that year and spent a total of $38.3 billion (that\u2019s more revenue than both Google and Goldman Sachs Group, which brought in $38.3 billion and $36.8 billion, respectively) on equipment, licenses, travel and more. These <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.tractoptics.com\/the-phases-of-a-deer-hunter\/\" title=\"The Phases of a Deer Hunter\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"1202\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">conservative estimates mean every hunter<\/a> spent $2,800. Not to mention the two-plus million hunters under the age of 16 who likely have a parent or guardian pay their way.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify\"><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify\"><\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"text-align: justify\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Number_One_in_Conservation\"><\/span>Number One in Conservation<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3><p style=\"text-align: justify\"><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify\"><\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"text-align: justify\">As a hunter, <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.tractoptics.com\/elk-hunting-tips-for-beginners\/\" title=\"Elk Hunting Tips for Beginners\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"1122\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">you\u2019re likely doing more for animals<\/a> than these anti-hunting, pro-animal groups combined that we don\u2019t need to name. <a title=\"All About Hog Hunting\" href=\"https:\/\/tractoptics.com\/blog\/all-about-hog-hunting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hunting<\/a> generates nearly $12 billion annually on federal, state and local tax revenues. Hunters, doing their part, have contributed some $7.5 billion to state conservation efforts. With the current rate of firearm and ammunition sales, hunters and shooters are contributing about $370 million a year.
