If you are a shooter and spend any significant time at the range, you must have seen the influx of the 6.5 <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.tractoptics.com\/finding-the-perfect-6-5-creedmoor-rifle-scope\/\" title=\"Finding the Perfect 6.5 Creedmoor Rifle Scope\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"431\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Creedmoor rifles<\/a> lining up on the shooting benches. So what is the big deal with this new round and why is it taking the country by storm? Well, first of all, calling it new would be inaccurate. While the 6.5 Creedmoor has really only gained significant popularity among vast numbers of shooters within the last two years, this cartridge was launched 10 years ago. The brainchild of the engineers at Hornady, it was designed as a long-range competition load and named after the historic Creedmoor range, the location of the first national rifle matches in Long Island, New York.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify\"><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify\"><\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"text-align: justify\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"65mm_Creedmoor_Rifle_Round_vs_300_Win_Mag\"><\/span>6.5mm Creedmoor Rifle Round vs 300 Win. Not only does this make it a great precision long range competitive round, but it also makes it an excellent choice for <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/tractoptics.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"hunting\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"332\">hunting<\/a>.<br \/>When compared with the popular .308 Winchester the recoil is reduced, making a long day at the range much more pleasurable. Many people feel that the 6.5mm projectile provides the best aerodynamic ballistic profile of any diameter bullet designed today, resulting in high ballistic coefficients (BC) and superior long range results as well as reduced wind deflection.
