Lana South of explains the importance of having good <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.tract-optics.co.za\/tract-toric-2-5-15x44-review1\/\">binoculars<\/a> and how they made all the difference.<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify\"><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify\"><\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"text-align: justify\">When I first began <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/tractoptics.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"hunting\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"304\">hunting<\/a> with my husband, he always stressed the importance of good quality scopes and binoculars. While I always trusted what he said it was not until I really began <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.tractoptics.com\/all-about-hog-hunting\/\" title=\"All About Hog Hunting\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"620\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hunting<\/a> by myself that I truly understood what he was really saying. Now after several years of <a title=\"Why the 2.5-15x Rifle Scope is Ideal for Hunting\" href=\"https:\/\/tractoptics.com\/blog\/why-the-2-5-15x-rifle-scope-is-ideal-for-hunting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hunting I couldn\u2019t imagine not hunting without good binoculars and good scopes<\/a>. We live and <a title=\"Texas Feral Hog Hunting\" href=\"https:\/\/tractoptics.com\/blog\/texas-feral-hog-hunting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hunt a lot in East Texas<\/a>. East Texas has a lot of varied terrain that includes wide open fields usually surrounded by thick timber. This creates lots of shadows and highlights that can play havoc on lesser optics. Much of our game does not move in the open except for the early morning hours or right at dusk. These are the times that most lesser optics fail.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify\"><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify\"><\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Glassing The Edges To Expose What&#8217;s Out There Good Binoculars<\/strong><\/h2><p style=\"text-align: justify\"><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify\"><\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"text-align: justify\">It\u2019s mid deer season in Texas, never quite knowing what the weather will be or what will show up, if anything, you prepare for it all. A good all-weather jacket, plenty of snacks, water, a good book, and of course my phone. All of this PLUS your <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.tract-optics.co.za\/binoculars-for-turkey-hunting\/\">hunting<\/a> \u201cequipment\u201d, the perfect all-around gun <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.tractoptics.com\/our-top-tips-for-glassing-terrain\/\" title=\"Our Top Tips for Glassing Terrain\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"1131\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">topped with good glass<\/a>, and of course you have to have your binos too. Loaded down with ALL of this I head out early before light breaks to get to my stand and settle in before the best part of the day. Soon you can to see shadows starting to open, the sky is getting lighter, then you hear the first chirps of the day with the birds starting to stir around, Oh Man, if you aren\u2019t out there at this time of day you are missing out!\u00a0 The distant edges of my set up are still too dark to really see what\u2019s there so I use my <a href=\"https:\/\/tractoptics.com\/all-products\/10x42-binoculars\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TRACT binoculars<\/a> to expose those edges to see what\u2019s hanging out there. Without them all the saplings sprout Huge horns! LOL! I thought I\u2019d give my \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/convergenthunting.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Predator Pro<\/a>\u201d app another try to see if I could get one of those cats to come check it out. I turn on the app and select the \u201cBaby Bobcat\u201d sound and let it go. Looking around, it wasn\u2019t long before I see movement at the far left edge of my set up. Then it was gone\u2026 did I see something, was it a bird, rabbit\u2026? I pick up my <a href=\"https:\/\/tractoptics.com\/all-products\/10x42-binoculars\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TORIC binos<\/a> and clearly see, YES, it\u2019s a big bobcat! OH MY Goodness, here it comes! He\u2019s headed my way\u2026 he suddenly stops in mid stride, sits down, and then crouches down&#8230; did he see me? I turn the volume way down on my phone hoping not to scare him off.\u00a0 Then I see a young doe approaching, clueless that a bobcat is near. With his attention diverted to the deer I move into position with my gun. The deer stops suddenly, turns and eases back into the woods.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify\"><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify\"><\/p><h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"text-align: justify\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Bobcat_Sits_Up_and_I_Shoot\"><\/span><strong>The Bobcat Sits Up and I Shoot!<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4><p style=\"text-align: justify\"><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify\"><\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"text-align: justify\">I can\u2019t believe it, I just called in my 1st bobcat and shot it on my own. Hard to believe, I know. I\u2019ve been hunting and calling in predators for many years, but I have always been behind a camera and someone else on the gun!
